How much memory is required for POI data?

Because they're stored as point locations (latitude and longitude), points of interest (POI) require very little memory. Compared with two dimensional map data, POIs hardly require any memory at all.

Most GPS receivers can store thousands in just 1 megabyte (MB) of memory. The exact amount of memory required varies by manufacturer / model.
